Bobby Welch Wins Christmas Closest-To-Pin

Congratulations to Bobby Welch of West Union High School Golf Team.  One of his 3 shots in the Christmas Closest To The Pin Contest ended up only 6'1" away from the hole on #7 at Monterey Beach.  Rick Henthorn of Wyoming got second and Travis Butte of Milan, Indiana got third.  (Taylor C. Suggs was not eligible for a prize.)

Thanks, again for coming out.  I'm glad you enjoyed Darlene's Hot-Mulled Apple Cider and Homemade Cookies.

These were not Bobby's shots, but a different Player practicing his drives on #18 on the Monterey Peninsula.

Ohio Amateur Golf Champion - Korey Ward

Korey Ward, whom many of you know, won the Ohio Amateur at NCR Country Club yesterday in grand style, as is his custom.  You can read about his Final Round in a nice story at this link...

Korey effectively knows his Golf Swing and Golf Game with incredible humility and honesty.  These qualities enable him to make alterations quickly.   11 years of hard work with me on the Video - and in many other very unique Learning Environments - have also given him confidence and calmness in any situation.

His humility and honesty are the main qualities that enable him to keep improving year-after-year.  His mom and dad have supported him in every way toward these great character traits.  (I'd even say 'big brother' has helped Korey a bunch, too.)

Cincinnati Golf - Full-Day Playing School

  

 Six 2011 S.uggs U.niversity of G.uided G.olf S.uccess Players enjoyed a great golf learning experience last Saturday in Winton Woods at The Mill Course and Meadow Links & Golf Academy...as part of the 13 benefits they receive from their Enrollment, besides their Private Lessons.

They hail from all around the Tri-State area.

Ben Cors (the smallest) is 9-years-old from Wooster, Ohio - and just shot 33(-3) in a Columbus, Ohio US Kids Golf Tour Event. From left-to-right now; Christine Hoy is 17-years old from Dayton, Ohio - and just won their Dayton Girls Junior Metropolitan Championship. Alyssa Akiyama is 14-years-old from Terrace Park, Ohio and just finished 2nd in a GCGA Junior Tour Event. Taylor Suggs is 14-years-old from Greenhills, Ohio and is the current Points Leader in the GCGA Season-Long Junior Tour. Jeff Sullivan is 26-years-old from Fairfield, Ohio - and just reached the Final 8 in the GCGA Tony Blom Metropolitan Tournament. Quincy Hogan is 17-years old from Carrollton, Kentucky and shot 83 this day, as she recovers from injuries.

Each of these good young persons is a hard-working and self-directed learner. Congrats to each of them on their continued long-term GOLF...SUCCESS!

Cincinnati Family Golf Tour - Starts This Sunday at Meadow Links & Golf Academy

This Sunday Morning is the first ‘Family Golf Tour’ Event of 2011.  It happens at Meadow Links & Golf Academy and is a 4-Person Family Scramble, and only costs $40 for the whole team.

This is a fantastic way for you to compete with your Juniors/Parents instead of just watching them…and it really engenders a whole lotta’ humility all throughout the Family (if ya’ know what I mean).

As at each Family Golf Tour Event, I will Video each Competitor’s Swing and e-mail you the Analysis.  I’m proud to say that a S.U.G.G.S. Player won the 2010 Season-Long Points Race; Zane Brownrigg and his Family.  Their Award Plaque is now on display at Meadow Links & Golf Academy.

Been very busy but wanted to tell you what happened on my golf trip…

First day at the University Club of Kentucky-6600 yards from the blue on a VERY windy day.  I shot an 80-Sean who's a zero handicap had a 78 and nobody else broke 90! (seven other guys).  Three days at the Peninsula (Pete Dye course) again from the blue tees brought 2-86's and a 78 (first one this year!)  Hit the ball great and got up and down consistently.  Got into a nice groove and hit a lot of good shots, including the scramble's.  I appreciate the simple tips you gave me before the trip-I continue to work on them and am seeing the results regularly.

Cincinnati Golf Show - Golf...Success Seminars

The Cincinnati Golf Show happens this weekend - despite the cold weather outside.

At the SOPGA Teaching Pavillion I'll be giving a talk each day about how you can experince your own GOLF...SUCCESS...just like the Golf...Success Results these Players have had.

'Hi-Tech GOLF...SUCCESS' will be my topic on Friday at 6pm.  You'll see the Golf Industry's best 2D and 3D Video and Motion Analysis Equipment in action.

On Saturday at 3pm I'll help you learn about 'College & Junior GOLF...SUCCESS'.  I help many of the region's best Junior And College Golfers - and do it in many unique, and unconventional, ways.

'On-Course Lesson GOLF...SUCCESS', Sunday at 4pm, will enable you to see how traditional 'Driving Range' Lessons may indeed be hurting you, more than helping you.  85% of my Students have done On-Course Golf Lessons with me - and always are amazed how much they learn.
